The Mandarins is proud to introduce our 2022 Brass Co-Caption heads, Mr. Ricardo “Rick” Brown and Mr. Bryen Warfield. Rick and Bryen bring a tremendous degree of excellence and experience at the highest levels of the drum corps activity, and we look forward to Rick and Bryen creating amazing opportunities for our brass section. Brown stated, “It is truly my honor and privilege to be joining the Mandarins family, and I promise that any student that chooses to join us will receive a musical experience that is second to none while also having the time of their lives. Together we will build upon the great legacy that has been established here at the Mandarins, and I can’t wait to see what the future holds.” Rick and Bryen are actively developing their team of brass educators and professionals, and we will announce their team in the near future. Creative Director Becca Anderson stated, “What these two gentlemen bring to the Mandarins will push us in a prodigious new direction, not only for the brass caption but, the entire organization.” Warfield stated, “I am truly grateful to JW Koester, Becca Anderson and the entire Mandarins staff, members and alumni for allowing Ricardo and me to continue the success of the Mandarins Brass program. I am looking forward to giving back to the activity that has given me so much and cannot wait to get rolling for 2022.” This is an exciting time for our organization as we continue to pursue excellence and creativity while continuing to present entertaining programs for our family and fans. “I am excited and confident that Rick and Bryen will take the Mandarins brass section to new heights of excellence and performance,” stated Corps Director JW Koester.
