The Mandarins is pleased to introduce our 2022 color guard team led by newly appointed Caption Head Jeffrey Capponi. Jeffrey was a member of the Mandarins color guard design team in 2021 prior to accepting the color guard caption head position. The 2022 color guard team combines an amazing mix of new and returning instructional staff who brings talent and experience to the Mandarins, and we look forward to the new opportunities that this instructional team will bring to the 2022 membership. Creative Director Becca Anderson stated, “I am absolutely ecstatic about what the future holds for the 2022 Mandarins color guard under Jeff’s leadership. This educational team brings a wealth of knowledge and sophistication to the table that will change the trajectory of the 2022 color guard.” Capponi stated, “Drum corps holds a very special place in my heart and has helped shape who I am as a person. As caption head, I look forward to sharing the drum corps experience with the members of the 2022 Mandarins. To say that I am thrilled to be returning to the Mandarins in this new role would be an understatement.“ This is an exciting time for our organization as we continue to pursue excellence and creativity while continuing to present entertaining programs for our family and fans. “I am excited for the color guard members as I believe that their 2022 instructional team will build on the 2021 season to take the guard to new heights of excellence and performance,” stated Corps Director JW Koester.
